White Rock Runners

Club Biography

White Rock Runners is a running club based in Cardiff, and affiliated to Welsh

Athletics. We welcome runners of all abilities, from beginners to ultra-marathon

runners, and triathletes.

As a club, we are very active on the local running scene and have a successful club

championship based on a number of these races.

We regularly field teams in the Gwent Cross Country League. Annually, we attend

an Endurance event as a club; previously this has included, Cotswold 24

Hour/100 Mile Run, Endure 24, and for 2017, the Vale of Glamorgan Ultra.

We meet twice a week. On a Tuesday for a structured, coach lead training

session and on a Thursday for an informal club run followed by a social get

Tuesday’s session focuses on improving performance with a variety of speed

work, conditioning and hill sessions, along with a number of trail sessions over

the summer months.

Thursday’s club run consists of various distance runs from around 4 ½ miles

upwards. We usually meet in The Oyster Catcher, Penarth Marina, for a drink and

a chat afterwards.

Many of our members regularly run, and volunteer, at parkruns in Cardiff and the

surrounding area.

If you are interested in joining us, but you are unsure that we are the right club

for you, then please come along to a training session and see for yourself, with no

pressure to join.
